Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 LB stew meat
  • 3/4 c flour
  • 1 tsp seasoning salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 med onion
  • 2 c water
  • 2 c beef broth
  • 1/4 c Worcestershire
  • 1 c red wine
  • 4 big carrots
  • 4 fist size potatoes
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes

Preparation

Step 1

Slice stew meat into 1inch pieces. Place beef into plastic bag with flour, and both salts; coat meat. Brown meat with oil in big pot. Add onion, water, broth, Worcestershire, and wine; bring to boil. Cook till meat is tender, about 1 to 1 ½ hours. Peel and chop carrots and potatoes into 1 inch slices. Add vegetables and tomatoes. Simmer till vegetables are tender. Serve with biscuits.
**If making in crock pot: Brown meat and then add all ingredients to crock pot. Cook all day on low!
