Ingredients
- stuffing:
- 6 # turkey
- 1 # italian sausage
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 C celery chopped
- 1 can cream of mushroom OR cream of chix soup
- 1 can chicken broth
- 1 package Kellogg's Croutettes
- 1 C butter
- salt, pepper, poultry seasoning
Preparation
Step 1
Brown sausage, celery and onion. Drain grease and add canned soup and chicken broth. Mix well. Add croutettes and mix well.
Sprinkle bird, inside and out with salt, pepper, poultry seasoning and garlic. Stuff bird and bake until turkey reaches an internal temp of 185.
Remove stuffing and shred turkey. Combine stuffing and turkey. Chill gravy and skim off fat before thickening. If more liquid is needed add another can of chicken broth. Mix gravy with stuffing and turkey mix.
