Ingredients

  • Glaze:
  • 1 c butter (no substitutes), softened
  • 1/2 sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 t baking powder
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/2 c raspberry jam
  • 1 c powdered sugar
  • 2 T evaporated milk
  • 1/2 t vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg & vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Divide dough into 4 portions. Shape each into 10x2 1/2" log. Place on greased or foiled sheet. Make 1/2" impression down center of each. Bake @ 350 for 10 minutes. Fill impressions with jam. Bake 10-15 minutes more. Cool for 2 minutes. Remove and cut into 3/4" slices. combine glaze ingredients until smooth and drizzle over warm cookies.
