Monster Cookies

By

I found this recipe in the paper in the early 70's! It had been submitted by a woman who worked in a school cafeteria. The original recipe starts with 18 cups of oatmeal! These are a favorite of many people even after all these years.

Preparation

Step 1

Use a mixer to cream peanut butter and butter together. Add sugars and syrup and continue to cream.
Mix in vanilla and eggs
Mix oatmeal, soda, and salt, stir into the creamed mixture by hand.
Add remaining items and mix in.
Drop batter onto ungreased cookie sheets (I use parchment paper) using a scoop or large spoon. ( an ice cream scoop makes about 6 inch cookies, I use a smaller size for about 4 inch cookies)
Flatten with fingers or fork.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Cool on wire racks. Store in tightly closed container or freezer. They won't last long!
