Ingredients
- 1-1/4 cups red wine vinegar
- 3/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup New Mexico chili powder
- 1/3 cup garlic powder
- 1/3 cup Hungarian sweet paprika
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 red onion chopped
- 3 bay leaves crumbled
- 2 fresh thyme sprigs
- 2 fresh rosemary sprigs
- 1 - 2 lb. flank steak
- 3 cups mesquite chIps soaked in water 1 hour
Preparation
Step 1
Whisk first 7 ingredients in medium bowl to blend. Mix in onion, bay leaves and herbs. Place steak in large glass baking dish. Spread marinade over, turn to coat. Cover with plastic, chill at least 1 day and up to 2 days. Brush grill rack with oil. Scrap marinade off steak. Grill steak.
