Oatmeal Crisps

Ingredients

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 deg.; grease baking sheets.

Soften margarine in large mixing bowl; blend in rolled oats, then sugar.

Sift flour with baking soda, spices; blend in oatmeal mixture.

Stir in raisins and milk. Mix well; mixture will be quite soft.

Push dough from slightly-rounded teaspoon measure onto prepared baking sheets; allow about 2" between mounds as cookies will flatten to become thin and crispy.

Bake in preheated oven for 12 - 15 minutes until golden brown. Leave on pans about two minutes before removing to wire racks to cool.

When cold, store in loosely-covered container. In warm weather, place waxed paper between layers.
