Ingredients

    lbs. ground beef

  • 1

    pkg. taco seasoning mix

  • 2

    cloves crushed garlic

  • 1/2

    t cayenne

  • 1 - 12

    ct. pkg. corn tortillas

  • 1

    - 16 oz jar taco sauce

  • 1

    / c chopped green onions

  • 1 - 8

    oz. sour cream mixed with 1 t. chili powder

  • 2

    c shredded Monterey Jack Cheese

  • 2

    c shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 375F. Cook beef until brown; drain. Stir in taco seasoning and 1 c water, garlic and cayenne. Simmer uncovered for 10 mins; set aside. sprinkle cornmeal in the bottom of a Deep Dish Baker. Place 4 tortillas in the bottom of the Baker. (Overlapping will occur and you want them to extend up the sides of the Baker a little.) Spread: 1/2 c of taco sauce on tortillas, 1/2 meat mixture, 1/4 c geen onions, 1/2 sour cream mixture and 1 1/2 c of the cheeses (3/4 c of each). Repeat, starting with 4 tortillas, sauce, meat, onions, sour cream and cheese. Place last 4 tortillas and 1/2 c taco sauce on top. Bake for 40 mins. Remove and sprinkle remaining cheese. Return to oven and bake 5-8 mins. until cheese is melted. Let stand 10 mins befoe serving. Great served with extra sour cream, cheese and guacamole.
