Chocolate Cobbler

Quick, easy and delicious dessert, and it's cho-co-late!! This makes its own chocolate sauce that is awesome served warm spooned over vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 sticks real butter
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 3/4 cups self-rising flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk, plus a smidgen more
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder (5 Tbls)
- 2 cups boiling water
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F.
Melt butter in a 13x9 casserole dish in the oven. Remove from oven when melted.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, vanilla, and milk. Pour this over the melted butter, but DO NOT STIR!
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the other cup of sugar and the cocoa. Sprinkle this over the batter in the pan, but DO NOT STIR!!
Boil 2 cups of water in the microwave. Pour it over the top of the cocoa, but DO NOT STIR!!
Bake for about 45 minutes or until tests done with toothpick.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and a cherry or chopped nuts.
