Ingredients
- 3 cups vegetable oil for frying (you can use a heck of a lot less like 1/2 to 3/4 cup)
- 3 15 oz cans chickpeas (or cup down by 1/3), rinsed and patted dry
- 1 tbsp powdered garlic
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 cup all purpose flour
Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat the oil to 350. Place paper towels on a baking sheet for draining. In a medium toss the chickpeas with garlic, onion powder. Add flour and toss until coated. Transfer to a sieve and tap off the excess flour.
2. Add 1/3 of the chickpeas at a time to the oil and fry stirring occasionally until browned and crispy, about 8 minutes. Using a slotted spoon transfer to paper towels and sprinkle with salt. Let the oil reheat to 350 and repeat in 2 more batches.
