Ingredients

  • 12 Medium Gulf Raw Shrimp
  • 1 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare the shrimp y removing all of the shell except the last section and the tailfins
butterfly the shrimp by cutting most of the way through along the ack of the shrimp on the side with the dark vein
remove the vein and rinse each shrimp
combine the bread crumbs, and seasonings
combine the beaten egg with the milk in another small bowl
sift the flour into a third small bowl
heat the oil in a deep fryer or large sauce pan over medium heat
oil should be about 350 degrees

coat the shrimp one at a time
coat in milk mixture then drop into flour mixture
then dunk back into milk mixture when completely moistened drop it into the bread crumbs and coat it agian
set each shrimp on a plate until all of them are coated
drop the shrimp into the hot oil and cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until the outside is golden brown
serve with cocktail sauce and fresh lemon
