Ingredients
- 2 c. sifted all purose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon double acting baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup soft butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
Preparation
Step 1
sift flour with the baking powder and salt. Mix butter and margatine with the sugar until very light and fluffy. Mix in flour mixture. Refrigerate until easy to handle.
To bake: Start heating oven to 350F. On lightly floured surface, roll dough 1/4" thick. Cut into squares, triangles or shape desired. Place 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 20-25 minutes until done.
May sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Walnut: Subsititute2/3 c. brown sugar, packed for confectioners sugar. Add 3/4c. finely chopped walnuts. Decorate cookies with walnut halves or candied cherries. Bake at 300F 20-25 minutes
