Pepperoni Pizza Chili
This recipe is originally from Taste of Home. It is also found posted on Food.com (#156566). I always double the recipe and use the crock pot method.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- 1 lb. bulk hot Italian sausage
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 large green pepper, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (16 oz) jar salsa
- 1 can (16 oz) hot chili beans, undrained
- 1 can (16 oz) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 can (12 oz) pizza sauce
- 1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 pkg (8 oz.) sliced pepperoni, halved
- 1 C. water
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 3 C. shredded mozzarella cheese
- Optional: 1 can sliced mushrooms, black and/or green olives. For spicier recipe-add japalenos.
Preparation
Step 1
Cook beef, sausage, onion, green pepper and garlic in a dutch oven over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
Stir in all remaining ingredients except cheese. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for at least 20 minutes. *Can also cook in crock pot.
Just before serving, sprinkle with cheese.
