Brisket [CP] 'Veggies

Ingredients

  • 6 med. Potatoes - peeled & chopped
  • 6 med. Carrots - sliced
  • 3 med. Onions - sliced
  • 1- 1/2 tsp Salt
  • dash Paprika
  • 1 Beef Brisket - (~ 4 lbs.)
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 2 Tbs Butter or Margarine
  • 3 Tbs All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Beef Flavored Gravy Base

Preparation

Step 1

In Cockery Cooker place Potatoes, Carrots, & Onions. Trim excess fat from Brisket. Sprinkle w/ Salt, Paprika, & Dash Pepper; place atop veggies. Add Bay leaf & 1-1/2 cups H2O. Cover; cook on Low heat setting for 12 -14 hours. Remove Bay Leaf. Lift out Brisket to cutting board. Drain Veggies; reserve 1-1/2 cups cooking liquid. Add butter to veggies; mash. Season w/ Salt & Pepper. Keep meat & veggies warm; prepare gravy. In saucepan blend 1/2 cups cold H2O, slowly into flour; stir in reserved cooking liquid & Gravy base. Cook & stir till thickened & bubbly. Season to taste.
