Shepard's Pie

This recipe can be made without meat.
You can use other kinds of cheese, but I find that Hoffmans is the best, not leaving any oils on top of dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 5 potatos
  • 1 can corn, drained
  • 1 can peas, drained
  • 2 cans sliced carrots, drained
  • 10 slices sharp cheddar cheese, Hoffmans
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • chili powder
  • seasoning salt
  • celery salt
  • onion powder
  • minced garlic

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. Brown beef, seasoning to taste.

3. Boil potato until soft all the way through, drain.

4. Mash potatos (no need to add butter or milk)

5. Mix soup in mashed potatoes.

6. Season mashed potatoes to taste

7. Mix in vegetables in mashed potatoes.

8. Layer meat in bottom of 13x15 inch baking pan.

9. Layer mashed potato mix on top of meat.

10. Layer cheese slices on top of potato mix, covering entire pie.

12. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. (to melt cheese)

13. Let sit for 10 minutes before eating
