Ingredients
- 16 c medium cucumbers
- 6 medium onions
- 1/3 /c coarse salt
- 2 trays ice cubes
- 3 c vinegar
- 5 c sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp tumeric
- 1/2 tsp celery seeds
- 2 tbsp mustard seeds
Preparation
Step 1
Wash & slice cucumbers. Peel & slice onions. Combine veggies in a canning kettle or large dutch oven. Mix in 2 trays ice cubes. Sprinkle salt over vegggies. Mix again & allow to rest for 3 hours. Drain.
Combine vinegar, sugar, spices...Pour over vegetables. Heat to boiling. Pack in sterile jars; seal, and store at least 1 month before using.
