Mom's Hot Fudge Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 # unsweetened chocolate, Baker’s
  • 4 T butter
  • 2 T cornstarch
  • 1 3/4 C sugar
  • 1/4 C Karo light corn syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • 13 oz. evaporated milk
  • 1 t vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

On top of double boiler, combine butter and chocolate. Heat over boiling water to scald. Stir in all remaining ingredients. Cook, stirring until smooth and thickened.
