Ingredients

  • 2

    Tbsp butter, softened

  • 1/2

    cup sugar

  • 1/2

    tsp salt

  • 1

    egg

  • 2/3

    cup milk

  • 1

    tsp vanilla

  • 1 1/2

    cups flour

  • 3

    tsp baking powder

  • TOPPING:

  • 1/4

    cup sugar

  • 2

    Tbsp flour

  • 1

    Tbsp cinnamon

  • 1/4

    cup cold butter

Directions

1. In a small bowl, beat butter, sugar and salt until crumbly. Add the egg, milk and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour and baking powder; add to butter mixture. Transfer to a greased 8-in square dish. 2. For topping, in a small bowl, combine the sugar, flour, and cinnamon, cut in butter until mixture in crumbly. Sprinkle over batter. 3. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Serve warm if desired. Yields: 9 servings.
