Frootsie Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw wheat germ
  • 1/4 cup soy grits
  • 1/4 cup high-protein powder
  • 1 cup soy lecithin granules
  • 1/2 cup date sugar
  • 1 cup carob powder
  • 1 cup sunflower meal
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped dates
  • 1 cup raisins
  • Water
  • 1 cup shredded coconut

Preparation

Step 1

Combine dry ingredients. Combine honey, oil, vanilla, dates and raisins. Mix dry and wet combinations together, adding just enough water so that you can knead the mixture lightly. Divide into thirds. Sprinkle coconut onto waxed paper. Shape dough into 1 1/2-by-10-inch rolls; coat with coconut and wrap each roll individually in waxed paper. Store in refrigerator. To serve, cut into slices. Great to put in lunch boxes.
