Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs of boneless meat cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoon of cooking oil
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/8 teaspoon of ground all spice
  • 6 medium cut carrots
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 1/2 cup of cold water
  • 1/4 cup flour

Preparation

Step 1

In a large pot cook meat in hot oil over medium high heat
15 to 20 minutes or until brown drained excess fat
add 4 cups of water,sliced onion,garlic,Worcestershire sause, lemon juice,sugar, salt,pepper,bay leaf and allspice. Bring to a boil reduce heat. Simmer covered for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Add carrots, potatoes, return to a boil; reduce heat and simmer covered about 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Discard bay leaf.

In a screw top jar shake flour and 1/2 cup of cold water, until combined. Stir in stew. Cook and stir until thickened an bubbly cook1 mintue more.
