Vinegar Pie Crust

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. white vinegar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 7 tbsp. water (1/2 cup)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup plus 2 tbsp. Crisco
  • 3 cups flour

Preparation

Step 1

Blend vinegar and beaten egg; add water and salt. Cut Crisco into flour with passtry blender. Combine the two mixtures. Chill, if possible, before rolling out. Bake unfilled pie shell at 425 for 12-15 minutes.

Yields 3 (9 inch) crusts.
