Ingredients
- Topping:
- 3 cups oats, quick or old-fashioned
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 cups applesauce, unsweetened
- 1 cup milk, 1% or nonfat
- 6 tbsp safflower oil
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp walnuts

Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 F; spray 9-by-12-inch baking dish with nonstick coating. Combine first 7 ingredients (oats, both flours, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, 1 cup brown sugar). Mix together applesauce, milk, oil, raisins and eggs, and add to dry ingredients; stir until moistened. Pour into baking dish, sprinkle topping ingredients over batter, and bake 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. When cooled, cut into 24 pieces. Freeze unused portions.
