Slow Cooker Family Favorite Beef Stew

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs beef stew meat, cut into cubes
- 5 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 lb small red potatoes, quartered
- 1 lb fresh baby carrots
- 1 1/2 cups frozen pearl onions
- 1 (12 oz) jar beef gravy
- 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1/4 cup cold water

Step 1
On waxed paper, sprinkle beef with 2 tbsp of flour, salt and pepper; toss to coat. Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add coated beef; cook and stir 4-6 minutes or until browned, stirring occasionally.
In slow cooker, layer potatoes, onions and carrots. Add browned beef; sprinkle with any remaining flour mixture. Top with gravy and tomatoes.
Cover; cook on low for 8-10 hours.
About 10 minutes before serving, blend water and remaining 3 tbsp flour until smooth. Stir into stew. Increase heat setting to high; cover and cook an additional 10 minutes or until thickened.
