Ingredients

  • For the sauce:
  • 2/3 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 lb. of ground meat (your choice, I usually mix two)
  • 2 slightly beaten eggs
  • 1/4 cup onion, grated or diced small
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sage
  • 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can tomato sauce ( I use my own sauce)
  • 1/2 can water
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce

Preparation

Step 1

1. Soak bread crumbs in milk, roughly 10 min.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
3. In a large bowl, Add meat, eggs, onion and seasonings. Mix well, form into a loaf, and roll in the bread crumbs.
4. Place loaf in a greased baking pan.
5. Mix tomato sauce and worcestershire. Spread over meat loaf. Pour 1/2 can of water in bottom of pan.
6. Bake uncovered for 1 hour. Baste with liquid in pan in 15 minute intervals.
