Lasagna

This is a recipe of a dear friend. It is the best lasagna I have ever eaten.
- 45 mins
- 90 mins
Ingredients
- 3 Lbs of Ground Beef
- 2 Tbsp. Garlic Paste
- 32 Oz. Jar of Prego Italian Sauce
- 16 Oz. Sargento 6 Italian shredded Cheese
- 24 OZ. Cottage Cheese
- 1 Tbsp. Crushed Oregano
- 5 Extra Large Eggs
- 1 Lb. Box of Mueller's Lasagna Noodles
Preparation
Step 1
In a 3Qt. sauté pan brown ground beef with the garlic paste. Drain excess fat and return meat to pan. Add Prego Italian Sauce and simmer on low heat. While meat is on low; mix cheese, cottage cheese, oregano, and eggs in a large bowl and set aside. In a large stock pot heat 6 quarts of water to boiling and cook lasagna noodles (I add a little olive oil to the water and cook 4 noodles at a time). That is the amount of noodles I need for each layer. In a large 4 quart lasagna pan begin making layers. I start with a layer of ground beef and Prego sauce. Then add a layer of noodles followed by a layer of cheese mixture. Repeat by alternating the layers ending with the ground beef mixture on top. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.
