Ingredients
- 1 small bunch broccoli, cut in florets and pieces, or 1 pkg (300 g) frozen
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion chopped
- 1/2 lb (250 g) mushrooms, coarsely chopped
- 8 oz (250 g) cream cheese
- 1 cup (250 ml) sour cream
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
Preparation
Step 1
In pot of boiling water, cook brocoli just until tender-crisp. (if using frozen, cook according to package directions.) Drain and let cool. Chop coarsely and set aside.
In skillet, melt butter over medium heat; add garlic, onion, mushrooms and cook until tender, 6 to 8 minutes. Set aside.
In mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Blend in mushroom mixture, broccoli, sour cream, and salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately or let cool, cover and refrigerate for several hours. Makes about 4 cups (1 L).
