Foolproof Dark Chocolate Fudge

Ingredients

  • 1 . 3 (6 oz) packages semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 . 1 (14-oz) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (not evaporated milk)
  • 3 . Dash of salt
  • 4 . 1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 5 . 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Preparation

Step 1

STOVETOP:
1. In heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chips with sweetened condensed milk & salt.

2. Remove from heat & stir in nuts & vanilla.

3. Spread evenly into wax paper-lined 8- or 9-inch square pan.

4. Chill 2 hours or until firm.

5. Turn fudge onto cutting board, peel off paper, & cut into squares.

6. Store loosely covered at room temperature.

MICROWAVE:
1. In 1-quart glass measure, combine chips with sweetened condensed milk. Cook on 100% power (high) for 3 minutes (microwave ovens vary so cooking times may need to be adjusted)

2. Stir until chips melt & mixture is smooth.

3. Stir in remaining ingredients and proceed with step three above.
