Peppermint Sticks

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Sugar Candy Dough (see under Holiday Recipes)
  • 1 tsp. red food color
  • 1/4 tsp yellow food color
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
  • Confectioners' sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 375.

Divide dough in half.

To one half, mix in food colors and extract.

Divide each half into 12 pcs; drop colored and plain pieces alternately into square pan, 9x9x2 inches, to form checkerboard.

Pat dough evenly, swirling colors for marbled effect.

Bake about 15 minutes, or until lightly browned.

IMMEDIATELY cut into thin sticks, 4 1/2x1/2".

Sift sugar over warm sticks
