Recipe #12: Better Breading

Make your own whole wheat bread crumbs by throwing slices of bread in the food processor. 3 slices = 1 cup fresh crumbs.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almonds, slivered and blanched
  • 1 cup bread crumbs, preferably whole wheat
  • 1 cup wheat germ, unsweetenend
  • 1 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

Pulse almonds in food processor. Dont run continually. Pour ground almonds into a plastic bag then add bread crumbs, wheat germ, and salt. Seal and refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
