HAMBURGER COTTAGE PIE

Ingredients

  • 1 LB GROUND BEEF
  • 1 TBS. BUTTER
  • 1 SMALL SHALLOT, CHOPPED FINELY
  • 8 OZ MUSHROOMS
  • 1 TSP GARLIC
  • 1 TBS SOY SAUCE
  • 3 TBS FLOUR
  • 1 1/2 CUP BEEF BROTH
  • SALT & PEPPER
  • 3 THYME SPRIGS OPTIONAL
  • 1 PACKAGE DINERS CHOICE MASHED POTATOES, PREHEATED

Preparation

Step 1

BROWN GROUND BEEF AND REMOVE TO BOWL.
MELT BUTTER IN PAN AND SAUTE SHALLOTS, MUSHROOMS, GARLIC. SPRINKLE WITH FLOUR AND STIR TO MIX IN. ADD SOY SAUCE AND BROTH. COOK UNTIL THICKENED. ADD COOKED GROUND BEEF.

IN CASSEROLE DISH, POUR MEAT MIXTURE AND TOP WITH MASHED POTATOES.]
BAKE IN 350 DEGREE OVEN ABOUT 30 MINUTES OR UNTIL TOP IS BROWNED. CAN DRIZZLE WITH ADDITIONAL MELTED BUTTER BEFORE BAKING.
