Ingredients

  • 6 lb Lean hamburger
  • 4 Medium Onion, chopped
  • 4 Large tomatoes, canned
  • 8 cup Water
  • 1 Large beef consumme, (120oz)
  • 1 Large tomato soup
  • 16 Large carrots, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 12 Stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 tsp Parsley
  • 2 cup Pearl barley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

-Brown the hamburger and onions. Drain off fat. Combine all other ingredients in a large pot. Simmer covered for at least 2 hours, stir frequently. Remove bay leaf.
