    oz Dried macaroni noodles

  • 5

    tbsp Butter

  • 6

    tbsp Flour

  • 3

    cup Milk

  • 1/2

    tsp Ground nutmeg

  • 1

    Small green or red pepper, sliced

  • 1 1/2

    cup cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 2

    cup Breadcrumbs

  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

-Cook macaroni noodles. Drain. Melt a small amount of butter and mix with noodles, to prevent sticking. -Melt 5tbsp butter, add flour and stir over medium heat for about 30 seconds, Add milk and whisk until mixture thickens. Add nutmeg, salt and pepper, reduce heat and simmer. Heat peppers on stove top in a separate saucepan,add to milk mixture. then add cheese, stirring until melted. -toss mixture with noodles, and place in a casserole dish. Top with breadcrumbs. Can split into two for two smaller families allow to cool cover and freeze. -allow to thaw at room temperature for one hour, or all day in the fridge. Preheat oven to 350F and bake for 45 mins. if split into two bake time can be reduced.
