Ingredients

    Tbsp vegetable oil

  • 1-½

    lb lean hamburger

  • 1

    large onion (chopped)

  • 2

    cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1

    Tbsp ground cumin

  • 1

    small can tomatoes (diced)

  • 2

    small cans pinto beans (drained and rinsed)

  • 1

    small an red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)

  • 1

    (12 fl oz) bottle beer

  • 1

    can diced green chillies

  • 1

    Tbsp hot pepper sauce

  • 1-½

    tsp salt

  • Shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Directions

Heat oil in large, heavy saucepan over medium heat. Add hamburger and cook until well browned. Remove meat with slotted sppon while retaining all liquid in the pan. Add onion and garlic to saucepan, cook over medium heat until tender. Return meat to pan. Stir in ground cumin. Add diced tomatoes with liquid, pinto beans, red kidney beans, beer, green chilies, hot pepper sauce, and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat tolow; cover and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with grated cheese over the top.
