Blueberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pints fresh blueberries, rinsed
  • 1 1/2 cups vanilla sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Directions

Combine the blueberries and vanilla sugar in a large heavy saucepan. Add 1/3 cup water bring to boil reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the mixture begins to thicken.

Remove from the heat and strain through a fine sieve. Add 1/2 to 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice. Cool to room temperature, cover and refrigerate.
