  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup corn, drained
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 3 hot dogs, sliced



Step 1

Preheat oven to 375*. Spray a square pan with nonstick spray.

Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda and pepper. Mix well.

Combine, in a separate bowl, buttermilk, corn, oil and eggs. Mix well. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir until lumpy batter forms. DO NOT OVERMIX!!

Arrange hot dogs in pan. Spread batter over hot dogs. Smooth the top.

Bake 30-35 minutes.
