Scotch Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 C 10x sugar
  • 1 C butter
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 2 C bread flour
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/4 t baking powder
  • extra fine sugar ( to coat)

Preparation

Step 1

Beat butter until soft.
Add sugar gradually.
Cream until blended.
Add vanilla.
Work in flour by hand, then salt & baking powder.
Roll dough to 1/3 in thickness.
Cut into squares.
Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375* for 20 mins.
Roll dough in a crescent shape when warm out if oven & cover with extra fine sugar.
Cover with sugar again once cool.
