Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325

Custard:
Beat egg yolks and sugar in a medium bowl until well blended using an electric mixer. Add melted chocolate; beat until well blended. Beat in whipping cream, milk, liqueur, and orange peel.

Place 12 small ramekins (or 24 2" foil baking cups) in 9"x13" baking pans. Fill each ramekin with custard mixture. Fill pans with hot water to come halfway up sides of ramekins.

Bake 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes or until a knife inserted near center of custard comes out clean. Cool completely in pans of water. Remove ramekins from pans, cover, and refrigerate until well chilled.

Topping:
Place a medium bowl and beaters from an electric mixer in refrigerator until well chilled. In chilled bowl, combnine whipping cream, sugar, and orange peel; whip until stiff peaks form. Fold in chocolate chips and liqueur. Spoon about 1 tablespoon topping over each chilled custard.

Store in an air tight container in refrigerator until ready to serve.
