Ingredients
- 5-6 yams, sliced (1/4 thick)
- 1 stick butter
- 2 cups sugar, cubed

Step 1
Cover sliced yams in a pot of water. Boil for 20 minutes, drain. Replace yams inside pot, fill 1/4 - 1/2 of the way full with new water. Place butter inside pot, and pour sugar over yams. Allow yams to carmelize in water/sugar mixture for approximately 30-45 minutes, uncovered.
