Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh basil, tightly packed
  • 2 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup raw walnuts
  • 1/4 cup raw pine nuts
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp. nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium vegetable broth
  • potassium salt, to taste ("No Salt")
  • freshly ground pepper, to taste

Step 1

1. Place the basil, garlic, walnuts, pine nuts, lemon juice and nutritional yeast in a food processor or high-powered blender. Pulse to combine, until the mixture is coarsely ground.

2. Turn the motor on and drizzle the vegetable broth in a thin stream. Taste, add the potassium salt and pepper to taste. Pulse a few more times to combine.
