Ingredients

  • 2

    pkg lady fingers

  • 1/2

    lb butter

  • 1/2

    C sugar

  • 5

    egg yolks

  • 5

    T ground toasted blanched almonds

  • 1/2

    c cold coffee

  • 2

    t vanilla

  • 1/2

    lb whipped cream

  • 1

    pkg slivered almonds

Directions

Cream butter and sugar till fluffy. Add egg yolks, one at a time, mix well after each addition. Add 5 T ground almonds. Add cold coffee, a few drops at a time. Add vanilla and mix well. Line 2 quart container with lady fingers, cover with batter and top with another layer of lady fingers. Chill Before serving, whip 1/2 lb whipping cream with T sugar and 1/2 t. vanilla and spread on top. Top with slivered almonds.
