RUM CAKE

Ingredients

  • GLAZE:
  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 1 small pkg instant vanilla pudding
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup dark rum (light will work ok)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

Stir together and beat till smooth

Use greased/floured Bundt Pan. Chop walnuts or pecans and sprinkle in bottom of pan. Pour batter over nuts. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Cool in pan 15 minutes.

GLAZE:

Boil gently 5 minutes. Poke holes in cake (still in Bundt pan). Pour ½ cup rum into glaze. Stir. Pour 2/3 glaze over “holy” cake. Turn cake out on plate. Pour remaining glaze over top of cake.
