Ingredients

  • 1 cup pearl barley,rinsed and drained
  • 28 ounces broth
  • 2-3 cups water
  • 1/4 tsp salt or to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Place the barley, broth and 2 ups water and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, for 25 minutes or until tender. If the barley starts to dry out before it's fully cooked add more water.
Drain in a strainer, Serve not or at room temp
Add butter to serve
