  • icing:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 box powdered sugar

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix flour and sugar; set aside. Mix in saucepan butter, water, and cocoa. Bring to a boil. Take off heat. Add flour mixture and mix well. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into a 9 x 13 inch pan and bake for 20 minutes. While cake is baking, combine in saucepan butter, cocoa, and water( may substitute 5 tbsps. buttermilk). Heat to a boil. Take off heat and add the powdered sugar. May add water, a few drops at a time, if needed, for spreading consistency. Ice cake in the pan while hot from the oven.
