Hot Cheese Puffs

Ingredients

  • ¾ lb. grated cheddar cheese
  • 4 ½ tbsp. flour
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • 5 egg whites
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • oil for deep frying

Preparation

Step 1

Combine cheese, flour, salt and pepper. Beat egg whites til stiff. Fold in cheese mixture. Shape into balls (1 tbsp. each). Heat 2 inches of oil to 375 degrees. Roll balls in crums. Deep fry til golden (1/2 minute). Drain.

Note: Can be frozen, wrapped in foil. Unwrap to reheat. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes from frozen state.
