Ingredients

  • 6

    chicken thighs

  • ¼

    cup bacon grease

  • 3

    cloves garlic, peeled and minced

  • 4

    cups chicken stock

  • ½

    cup brown sugar

  • salt to taste

  • pepper to taste

  • ½

    cup cilantro, finely chopped

  • ½

    cup lime juice

  • hot sauce to taste

Directions

Heat bacon grease in a skillet until almost smoking. Add rinse and dried thighs to the fat, add garlic and turn chicken until all sides are browned. Set aside. Add rest of ingredients to a stock pot and get them all boiling. When this is boiling, add thighs into pot. The chicken will take one half hour to 45 minutes to get done. Check chicken to see if it is starting to fall off the bones. Place chicken in strainer to cool and save liquid for gravy. Pull chicken apart. Place chicken on buns with bar-b-que sauce for sliders or fix any way you would like them.
