Ingredients

  • 3 lbs pork & veal (or whatever protein you like) - cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 Tblsp butter/margarine
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 3 cubes beef bouillon
  • 1 cup celery - chopped
  • 1 cup onion - chopped
  • 1 Tblsp butter/margarine
  • 1 Tsp ginger
  • 1 Tblsp soy sauce
  • 1 can bean sprouts
  • 1 can fancy Chinese vegetables
  • 1 can water chestnuts - sliced
  • 1 Tblsp corn starch
  • 1/2 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

1) In large skillet or dutch oven, brown meat in 1 Tblsp butter/margarine. Add boiling water and bouillon cubes. Cover and cook over low heat for 30 minutes

2) Meanwhile, saute celery and onions in 1 Tblsp butter/margarine until tender. Add to meat with ginger and soy sauce. Cover and simmer 1 hour or until meat is tender. Add bean sprouts, Chinese vegetables and water chestnuts

3) Stir in blend of corn starch and water. Cook and stir until thickened. Serve over hot rice.
