Cardamom cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter, room temp
  • 1/4 c plus 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp grated lemon zest (2 lemons)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 c flour
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375. In a mixer bowl, beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, 3 minutes. Add lemon zest, cardamom and salt. Beat until combined. On low, add flour and mix until combined.
Form dough into ten 1.5 inch balls and place on baking sheets 2 inches apart. With the bottom of a glass dipped in flour, flatten each ball.. Bake until golden, 10-12 minutes, rotating halfway. Let cool, then dust with powdered sugar.
