Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash pepper
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 pound (3) potatoes - pared and thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp. chopped onion
- 1 tsp. butter
Preparation
Step 1
Melt 2 tbsp. butter, stir in flour and seasonings. Cook until smooth and bubbly. Stir in milk, heat to boiling. In casserole dish, layer half the potatoes, all the onion and half the sauce. Top with remaining potatoes and sauce. Dot with 1 tsp. butter. Cover and bake 30 minutes. Uncover and bake about 35 minutes more until potatoes are tender.
