Broccolin Tuna Casserole

  • 5 cups uncooked egg noodles
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cornstarch
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp Thyme
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey jack cheese
  • 4 cups thawed broccoli
  • 2 ( 6.4 oz) cans tuna
  • 1/3 cup panko
  • 1 tbsp. butter



Step 1

Cook noodles and drain -
Put into 13x9 baking dish after spraying with cooking spray
Heat butter
Add onion and cook till tender
In small bowl whisk cornstarch, milk and seasonings till smooth and gradually add to pan with onions
Stir in broth and bring to boil
Cook and stir 2 minutes or till thickened
Stir in 3/4 cup cheese until melted
Stir in broccoli and tuna
Spoon mixture over noodles and mix well
Sprinkle with remaining cheese
Toss panko with melted butter and sprinkle over casserole
Bake covered 45 minutes
uncover and bake 15-20 minutes
