Ingredients
- 3 c flour
- 2 eggs + 1 egg yolk
- 1 tab. sugar
- pinch of salt
- 2 tab. unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons white grappa -/
- frying oil (preferably peanut) 1 liters
- icing sugar to taste
- a pinch of salt
- 1 grated lemon
Preparation
Step 1
. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
2. Pour the flour, ammucchiatela, make a hole in the middle and pour in the eggs, brandy, melted butter, sugar, vanilla, lemon zest, a pinch of salt. Stir until mixture is smooth.
3. Formed with the dough a ball, wrap with plastic wrap and let rest for about 1 hour.

5. Pour the oil in a frying pan with high sides, heat it, and when it is hot plunge crostoli and let them fry until they become golden brown and a few small bubbles have formed on the surface (typical of crostoli).
6. Crostoli taken with a slotted spoon, drain, arrange them on a paper towel to let them lose the excess fat.
7. Sprinkle crostoli with plenty of icing sugar and serve hot or cold.
