Ingredients
- plus any combination of:
- 2 1/2 c. all purpose flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. applesauce
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. wheat germ (optional)
- 1 c. finely chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans or a combination)
- 2-3 mashed ripe bananas
- 1 c. chopped dried apricots + 4 tsp. grated orange peel
- 1 c. cut-up dates

Step 1
Heat oven to 350.
Grease and flour 9x5x3 loaf pan or 2 8 1/2 x 4 1/2x2 1/2 inch loaf pans.
Measure all ingredients into a large mixer bowl; beat on medium speed 1/2 minute, scraping side and bottom of bowl constantly.
Pour into pan(s). Bake 65 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Remove from pan; cool thoroughly before slicing.
